Vandenburg-Haseltine Deed

of September 11, 1866

Union Township, Rock County, Wisconsin

Warranty Deed, - printed at the Janesville Gazette Office, and sold by O. J. Dearborn & Co., corner of Main and Milwaukee Streets, Janesville, Wis.
This Indenture, made this Eleventh day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
 
hundred and Sixty Six, Between James Vandenburg of the Town of Union, County of Rock and State of Wisconsin and Carry Vandenburg his wife parties of the first part, and John H. Haseltine of the Town, County and State aforesaid party of the second part: Witnessed, that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred and Seventy five dollars, to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns FOREVER, all that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being in the Town of Union, County of Rock and State of Wisconsin, known and distinguished as the South West quarter of the North East quarter of Section twenty two (22) Township Four (4) -orth of Range Ten (10) East Containing forty acres be the same more or less;
The above described is deeded Subject to certain Mortgage of One hundred and fifty Dollars and
interest thereon Executed by the said parties of the first to Alvin Vandenburg bearing date February 10, 1866
Together with all and singular hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging --[?] in anywise
appertaining; and all the estate, right, title, possession, claim and demand, in law or in equity, of the said parties of the first part, therein or thereto, To Have and to Hold the Same unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, to his sole use forever. And the said James Vandenburg and Carry his wife parties of the first part, for themselves, their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, that at the time of the delivery of these presents they were well seized of the above granted premises, as of an ina---asible estate of inheritance, in fee simple: that the same are free and clear from all liens and encumbrances whatever; Excepting the Above described Mortgage, And that the same in the quiet and peaceable possession and enjoyment of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, against all persons lawfully claiming the same, or any part thereof, will WARRANT AND FOREVER DEFEND.
In witness thereof, the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hand and seal the day and
year first above written.

and Carry his wife to me well known to be the persons described in, and who executed the above conveyance, and acknowledged that they executed the foregoing Deed, freely and voluntarily, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned.
