St. Thomas the Apostle Burials

City of Beloit, Rock County, Wisconsin

Located at 822 E. Grand Avenue
In 1854, Mrs. Lucy POWER donated land for the church with the provision that her husband, Capt. Thomas A. POWER (Beloit's first village board president in 1946), be interred within the church. Capt. POWER's body was moved to the church after its completion. Mrs. POWER was interred next to her husband in 1886. Supposedly, the church was named after the Captain. [Source: ComPortOne*]
