Contributed by Jeanne Jessie BEIER: OBITUARY OF FRANK BEIER Frank Jr. BEIER was born April 25, 1862 in the town of Red Wood, New York. In early boyhood he came with his parents to Cazenovia where he grew to manhood. On July 23, 1890 he was married to Nellie ROBINSON of LaValle. They then moved to South Dakota they resided for a number of years. To this union were born six children. They returned to the Cazenovia community where he engaged in farmed. Mr. BEIER retired from farming twenty-nine years ago and he and his wife moved to Valton where the spent the reminder of his life. He faithfully attended the Friends Church in Valton until failing health prevented. He passed away May 8, 1958, in the Reedsburg hospital at the age of ninety-six years. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, and two sisters, a son-in-law, Herbert MORTIMER, and a son, Lee. Surviving Mr. BEIER are his wife Nellie, a daughter, Florence MORTIMER of Valton; a son, Vern and wife, Okla, of Valton; a son, Frank and wife, Ida of Cazenovia; a son, Bert and wife, Ella, of Hillsboro; a daughter, Iva and husband, Archie SHORE of Valton; and a daughter-in-law, Eleanor BEIER of Philadelphia, PA.; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held on Sunday May 11, in the Valton Friends Church with Rev. Winifred EASTMAN officiating, assisted by Rev. Norma HENDERSON and Rev. Royal BAILIE. Burial was in the Valton cemetery. Pallbearers were Mr. BEIER’S seven grandsons, Dwane BEIER, Donavon SHORE, Dean BEIER, Dale MORTIMER, and Lawrence, George and Harold BEIER.
