Reedsburg Free Press 20 may 1926 page 1 DIED MARY ELLEN BYRNE Mrs. Mary Ellen Byrne suffered a stroke of paralysis at her home 500 E. Main St. last Friday morning and passed away Sunday. The funeral was held from Sacred Heart Church Tuesday morning. An obituary will appear next week. Reedsburg Free Press 27 May 1926 page 4 OBITUARY BYRNE Mary Ellen Byrne, widow of the late Peter Byrne, died Sunday, May 16 1926 at her home in this city from the effects of a stroke of paralysis which she suffered two days previous. Mrs. Byrne was the daughter of Samuel and Catherine Ray and was born March 16th, 1853 at Ft. Atkinson, Wis. In 1856 the family moved to Winfield, Wis. where on June 6th, 1877 she was united in marriage with Peter Byrne who preceded her in death twenty-two years ago, May 29, 1904. To them were born three sons and two daughters, Paul, Will, Frank, Genevieve and Ida, now Mrs. E. L. Sweeney. Mrs Byrne was member of Sacred Heart Church from which the funeral was held at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, May 18th conducted by Rev. Father Kernan. The pall bearers were: Dr. F.P. Daly, Martin Joyce, D.M. Falvey, Henry Rowan, Patrick Carroll and Martin Hickey. Contributed by Vicki Pierce
