Baraboo Newspaper - April 1894 Mrs. Anna D Newell, wife of Orange Newell, died at her home in Fairfield township on the 26th of April, 1894, at the advanced age of nearly eighty years, of general debility and old age. Mother Newell had lived among us almost half a century and by her daily life and walk endeared herself to a large circle of friends, her duty to others her first thought and by her simple, childlike christian faith her pathway was always surrounded by an atmosphere of sterling good. A patient wife, a loving mother has gone, mourned by her loved ones and friends and her memory will ever be green with them. She leaves behind her husband, Orange Newell, whom she lived with sixty-two years, four sons and two daughters living; W. Leroy, Frank O., W. Howard, Milton Tl, Martha N. wife of Prof. J. C. Yocum, and Rosa A. wife of Dewitt C. Hayes. The funeral services were held on Saturday, the 28th inst. conducted by Rev. W. Van Dreisen from the text, Revelation 14th, 13th, to a large cncourse of neighbors. May we all meet the Christian mother in the sweet bye and bye. submitted by Mary (Curtin) Schultz 9-1-2004
