Baraboo Paper May 1947 Obituary- Reynolds Mrs. Mellissa Reynolds was born in Albany, New York on May 3, 1857. Her family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, when she was a young girl. After a time they further moved to Wisconsin Dells (then Kilbourne City) where she was united in marriage to Lucius E. Reynolds on September 1, 1878. To this union was born three children: George W. Reynolds of Portage, Mrs. Myrtle Colby of Sauk City and Emmet Reynolds of Lake Delton. Also surviving her are eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Reynolds, affectionately known by many friends as "Lizzy" Reynolds recently enjoyed a reunion with many of her family on the occasion of her nintieth birthday. After a short critical illness, she departed from this life on the morning of May 26, 1947 in the St. Saviour Hospital, Portage. Her life was marked by a simple, yet deep, firm and lasting Christian faith. She loved to read the Bible and prayer was her regular experience. In early childhood her family joined the Episcopal church. Upon moving to Wisconsin she was united with the Methodist church at Lake Delton in 1925. She is remembered in her church as a devout and conscientious Christian. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lake Delton Methodist church following which the commital service was conducted at Spring Grove Cemetery at Wisconsin Dells.
