Baraboo News Republic Saturday, March 25, 1950 OBITUARY Mrs. P.R. Sansum Mrs. P.R. Sansum was born on April 10, 1883, in the town of Baraboo, as the second child of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Koons. Her childhood and youth were spent on the farm of her parents, receiving her education in the Lyons State graded school. She was baptised and joined the Baraboo Congregational church at an early age. On Sept. 14, 1904, she was married to Pearce Sansum of Baraboo. This union was blessed with four children, Roy, Elizabeth, Harry and one daughter who died in infancy. During her whole life the deceased took an active interest in the affairs of her church and the social life of her family and community. But above all she was a humble christian; and as such an example for good with all with whom she came in contact. Her final illness came to her in late January when she was operated on at St. Mary's Ringling hospital at Baraboo. She was able to return to her home to enjoy her many friends, cards and flowers. It was God's will to call her unto himself, March 22, at 3:45 a.m. Her age came to 66 years, 11 months and 12 days. She is survived by her husband; daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schrader, daughers Sandra and Mary Kay of Antigo; son Roy and wife and daugher Sharel Rae of Baraboo. A son, Harry, an infant daughter, sister, Mrs. Lee Cleveland, father and mother and one granddaughter Margaret E. Schrader, preceded her in death. She is also survived by 4 sisters, Mrs. George Howard, Mrs. Clarence Wenz, Mrs. Earl Pierce, all of Baraboo and Mrs. Marion Douglas of Adams; two brothers, Frank Koons of Chicago, Ben Koons of Madison; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Burial was made March 24th from the Congregational church at the Walnut Hill Cemetery. Contributed by Vicki Pierce
